Levy ‘makes Postecoglou sack decision’ after Tottenham loss v Liverpool

Daniel Levy has already decided what will happen with Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Tottenham were humiliated at Anfield on Sunday (27 April) as Liverpool thrashed the North London club 5-1 to clinch their 20th English league title.

It was an awful afternoon for Postecoglou and his players, particularly 19-year-old Lucas Bergvall, who was blasted by Gary Neville.

With a precedent already set previously, it was suggested in the aftermath of the defeat that Levy could sack Postecoglou before the UEFA Europa League semi-final.

And it appears as though the 62-year-old already knows when he is going to make a decision.

Levy to wait until the end of the season to sack Postecoglou

Postecoglou did something no Tottenham manager has ever done as the Australian made wholesale changes against Liverpool.

It highlights that the 59-year-old’s full focus is on the Europa League.

Tottenham will play Bodø/Glimt for a place in the Europa League final

Even if Spurs lift the Europa League in May, Postecoglou is still expected to leave Tottenham.

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t believe a decision will be made until after the final game of the season on Sunday, 25 May.

“I think it will be goodbye Postecoglou,” King said.

“However, nothing is going to happen until the final game of the season, as far as I can see. If anything was going to happen, it would have happened around Christmas. However, it didn’t. Postecoglou changed the team yet again against Liverpool. However, it didn’t matter; Tottenham were completely outclassed.

“After the first 10 minutes, it looked as though it might be interesting because Spurs were pressing high and putting Liverpool under pressure, and Dominic Solanke scored a wonderful goal. However, from that point on, it seemed to fall apart, and they were second best all over the pitch.”

Postecoglou should be sacked by Tottenham

Even if Spurs somehow win the Europa League, Postecoglou has demonstrated this season that he isn’t cut out to manage in the Premier League.

After 34 league games, Tottenham have lost 19 times, which is a horrendous record. Therefore, Europa League or not, the Lilywhites need someone different overseeing their Premier League campaign next year.
