Levy ‘makes Postecoglou sack decision after shocking’ Tottenham scenes v Wolves

Daniel Levy has already decided what will happen to Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Postecoglou’s side suffered their 17th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday (13 April) as they were beaten 4-2 by Wolves at Molinuex.

It was yet another miserable day for the traveling Tottenham support, with Cristian Romero branded a disgrace after his actions in the West Midlands, as Postecoglou once again looked out of ideas.

Therefore, the Australian will be hoping to turn things around and save himself when Tottenham travel to Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday (17 April) to play Eintracht Frankfurt for a place in the UEFA Europa League semi-final.

However, regardless of what happens in Germany, it seems as though Postecoglou’s fate might already be sealed.

Levy ‘to sack Postecoglou at Tottenham’

Should Tottenham fail to get past Frankfurt, Levy is expected to sack Postecoglou.

After the defeat to Wolves, Tottenham are 11 points behind the Premier League’s top nine with six games to play. As a result, qualification for Europe via their league position is almost impossible for the North London club.

Therefore, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think Postecoglou will be in charge next season, but he does expect Levy to give the 59-year-old until the end of the current campaign.

“It was a shocking performance from the players,” King said.

“Tottenham looked very ordinary, and it is a good thing they have three clubs below them who are destined for the Championship and have been for several weeks.

“That is now 17 defeats from 32 league games. Usually, a club would’ve sacked a manager with that kind of record months ago. However, he won’t be there next season, but I do think they will let it run until the end of the season because who are they going to bring in?”

Postecoglou is fighting a losing battle at Tottenham

Postecoglou will keep going till the very end. However, it seems as though his days at Tottenham are numbered, and it is now inevitable that he will be sacked.

Winning the Europa League could save him, but based on the way Tottenham are playing, it is difficult to see that happening. Therefore, it looks as though Tottenham will have a new manager in the dugout next season.
