John Wenham: Tottenham have the opportunity to ‘amplify the pressure’ on Chelsea
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham hopes that Tottenham can “amplify the pressure” on Chelsea and continue their winning run over the next few matches.
Spurs sit top of the Premier League with a two-point cushion after their 2-0 home win against Fulham on Monday 23 October.
Games against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Wolves await Ange Postecoglou’s side between now and the next international break.

And Wenham is hopeful that Tottenham can remain undefeated throughout this run and land a blow on their former manager’s new side.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “The next few games are all about grinding out results.
“We beat Crystal Palace 4-0 away from home last year and we beat Chelsea 2-0 at home, so hopefully we can match those results.
“We lost away at Wolves last year, which was very frustrating, so hopefully we can turn that around, gain three points in that game and add that to the points we’ve already picked up this season that we didn’t in the season before.
“There’s plenty of games this year where we’ve got the opportunity to turn them into a positive. I am just looking for Tottenham to carry on what they’ve done so far, and I think the weeklong rests will really help with that.

“Chelsea at home will be a big game, atmosphere wise it will be intense with Mauricio Pochettino coming back.
“I think if we can get a really comprehensive win against them that will amplify the pressure on Pochettino and Chelsea, and I’m hoping that we can do that.”
In other Tottenham news, the club continued their impressive defensive transformation with a clean sheet against Fulham.
