John Wenham: Jamaica ‘really want’ Tottenham youngster Tyrese Hall, he could switch allegiance

Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…

John Wenham believes that Tottenham Under-18s star Tyrese Hall, who he describes as one of his “favourite” academy players, could swap England for Jamaica.

Midfielder Hall has been a regular for Spurs’ Under-18s this season and recently made his debut for the club’s Under-21s, during a 2-1 win against Bristol City on Monday 9 October.

While his current international allegiance lies with England and the Three Lions, despite not yet having represented them at international level, that could soon be set to change.

That is according to Wenham, who has detailed the reasons why Hall could opt to represent Jamaica instead of England.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “We saw four of our players in the England Under-19s squad and two in the Under-17s squad during the recent international break, and I know there were a few more on the standby list.

“One of those players on the standby list was Under-18s star Tyrese Hall. He is one of my favourite academy players and was recently called up to the Under-21s squad for the win against Bristol City, where he made his debut at that level from the bench.

“He was on the standby list for the England Under-19s, and what happens with him will be interesting because I think he could end up now converting to play for Jamaica instead.

“That is because he’s been on standby for England two or three times now, and I know that Jamaica really wants him to play for them.”

In other Tottenham news, one Spurs defender recently reaffirmed his commitment to the club with his comments while away on international duty.
