Japhet Tanganga to accept permanent Millwall switch with Tottenham set for multi-million profit

John Wenham believes Millwall are likely to sign Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham for a fee of £3million.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims that the move would work for all parties involved, with Tanganga himself likely keen on the switch.

It comes after the centre-back was spotted leaving the pitch last following a lap of appreciation while supporters chanted for him to stay after the Lions’ 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle (via Kiro Evans, 27 April).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – sees a permanent deal being agreed between the two clubs.

“I could see Millwall offering £3million for Tanganga,” Wenham said.

“That would be a deal which works for everyone involved. Tanganga seems to be loved at the club and he’s proven himself as a top-level Championship defender.

“If he had a bit more time on his Spurs contract, I could see them commanding a higher fee, but unfortunately that isn’t the case.

“When we spoke previously, I thought Spurs would just let Tanganga go for free, but now I think they will activate his one-year option and sell him on for a tidy profit.”

Japhet Tanganga to quit life under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham and join Millwall

Tanganga has performed well while on loan with Millwall and might have impressed a few people watching back in North London.

However, he is unlikely to be a consistent starter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium considering the defenders ahead of him in the pecking order.

If he wants to continue playing regularly, a move away from Tottenham would be best, and it appears as if he has settled in well at The Den.

A permanent transfer would therefore be wise, and for Daniel Levy, it would represent 100 per cent profit with Tanganga having come through the youth ranks at Hotspur Way.

In other Tottenham news, Wenham was left baffled by a Fabrizio Romano transfer update.
