James Maddison blasted after ‘Embarrassing’ Tottenham midfielder incident v Arsenal
Bryan King has labelled James Maddison “embarrassing” after what the Tottenham midfielder did in the defeat against Arsenal.
The ex-Spurs scout feels that the 27-year-old hasn’t been at his best for a while now.
Maddison struggled to make an impact once again as Spurs were beaten 3-2 by their local rivals in the North London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (28 April).
And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – couldn’t believe the England international’s decision to go down in the box in the build-up to Arsenal’s second goal.
“With the double penalty appeal right before Bukayo Saka’s goal, it looked as if Dejan Kulusevski at least had a claim,” King said.
“As for Maddison, well that was just embarrassing the way he went down to try and win a penalty.
“He really does need to get himself sorted out. He is getting involved in things he doesn’t need to, and to be honest he needs to start thinking more about his football.
“His game the last month has been very average, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he missed out on the Euros.”
James Maddison continues to let Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou down
Ever since returning from injury, Maddison has struggled to rediscover the form which made him such a hit upon his arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While he is likely still considered by Ange Postecoglou to be a key player, he is quickly becoming a liability.

If he doesn’t improve soon, then Postecoglou might need to consider dropping him to the bench.
