Harry Kane return to Tottenham a ‘distinct possibility’ after Bayern Munich development

Harry Kane returning to Tottenham is a “distinct possibility” but he won’t leave Bayern Munich after just one season, according to Paul Robinson.

After a summer saga, Kane completed a blockbuster transfer to the Bundesliga giants in a reported £100million transfer last August (Sky Sports).

Part of Kane’s motivation was a desire to win trophies having failed to win silverware at Spurs but Bayern are trailing Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and lost the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie to Lazio.

A recruitment source with links to Spurs consequently told Tottenham News that Kane is open to the possibility of making a return to North London.

Ex-Spurs goalkeeper Robinson – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks he might one day return but not in the near future.

“I think there is a distinct possibility that at some point in the future before the end of his career that he could return to Tottenham,” Robinson said.

“I would be extremely surprised should that be the end of this season. He’s gone to Bayern Munich to win trophies, I mean there’s a distinct possibility he’s not going to win anything this season other than the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga.

“But he’s joined one of the biggest clubs in Europe historically. They might not be performing as well this year, but you look at the number of times they’ve won that Bundesliga, by the law of averages he’s going to win the league there at some point.

“I will be very, very surprised if a player like Harry Kane with his commitment and his attitude leaves after a year.

“They’ve not not won the league yet, they’re still in with a chance of winning the league and with Leverkusen having not ever won the league and not got it over the line there’s still a lot of pressure on them to do that.

“Bayern have still got a game against Lazio in the Champions League, they’re only 1-0 down, they could overturn that.

“We’re saying there’s a distinct possibility Harry Kane might not win anything, there’s still a possibility they could win the league and win the Champions League and win the Golden Boot.

“It’s unlikely, but the opportunities are still there for him and at a club like Bayern Munich the opportunities will always be there for him.”

Will Harry Kane return to Tottenham from Bayern Munich?

There is a sort of irony that Kane departed Tottenham in search of trophies and may end up winning a grand total of zero trophies in his first season in Munich.

And look, you just never know in this crazy, crazy world of football, if Kane feels like he made the wrong decision perhaps he could look to return to Tottenham.

Having said that, you feel like at some point Kane will win trophies with Bayern, whose coach Thomas Tuchel will depart at the end of the season.

So, will Kane return to Tottenham? One day maybe, but for now it is hard to imagine him giving up on his Munich adventure after only one season.
