Harry Kane claim emerges after Solanke announcement at Tottenham
Dominic Solanke has some big shoes to fill when it comes to replacing Harry Kane at Tottenham.
Spurs’ record goalscorer left his boyhood club to join Bayern Munich in 2023.
Speculation continues to swirl that Kane could one day return to Tottenham. However, for the time being, Solanke is the number one striker in North London, and he isn’t doing a bad job.
Despite suffering with injuries this season, the 27-year-old has largely impressed when he has played, recently shining in the 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (13 March).
And after a brand new announcement about Solanke, a Kane claim has emerged.

Solanke compared to Kane after announcement
Thomas Tuchel has selected Solanke as part of his first England squad.
Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins has missed out entirely, and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Solanke’s similarities to Kane helped him edge out his Aston Villa counterpart.
“Despite his lengthy layoff, Solanke looks fit and ready to go,” Wenham said.
“He got through the games against Bournemouth and AZ Alkmaar without any issues. Therefore, I have no problem with him being called up by England.

“I think it is important for him to be in Tuchel’s first squad. It was noticeable that Watkins, who a lot of people have suggested should start ahead of Kane, wasn’t even picked for the squad. Therefore, I’m pleased for Solanke that he has made it.
“I think he is the most natural alternative to Kane that England have.”

Solanke can learn a lot from Kane
Kane is arguably the best striker in the world at the moment. Therefore, any chance Solanke has to play and train with the 31-year-old can only be a good thing for Spurs and the striker himself.
While Solanke might never reach the heights Kane did at Tottenham, if he can score even half the goals the England captain did during his time in North London, it will no doubt be seen as a huge success.
