Harry Kane agent talks to be held amid shock £50m+ Tottenham transfer news
Bayern Munich star Harry Kane is playing a major role in the latest new signing at Tottenham.
As reported by Le Parisien (30 January), Spurs have reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich over a £50million transfer for young forward Mathys Tel.
Tottenham are currently the frontrunners to secure the 19-year-old’s signature. However, according to Florian Plettenberg (30 January), Tel is yet to make a final decision on whether he will move to North London.
And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the young forward will be seeking advice from his current teammate, and Spurs’ all-time record goalscorer, Harry Kane.
“Tel would probably be playing regular football at Tottenham,” King said.
“The player and his agent will be talking to Kane, without a shadow of a doubt. There is no problem at Tottenham in terms of the club’s facilities – the training ground and stadium are far better than anything else in Europe.
“Therefore, the chance to play there every week would be a great incentive for any player, young or old. Kane will put Tel straight on what the area is about and what the club is about. I would think that Kane has told him it is a great club.
“A fee has been agreed. However, what needs to be agreed upon now is personal terms, and Tel will need guarantees that he is going to play regularly at Spurs.”
Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel to join Tottenham?
Many supporters will be forgiven for thinking that Daniel Levy had fallen asleep for the past 30 days.
Spurs’ lack of transfer activity has been a huge disappointment, especially considering the number of players they have unavailable due to injury, and has resulted in tensions rising in North London.
Therefore, it looks as though the club are responding by pushing to sign Tel, and if they do convince the Frenchman to join the club, it would be a fantastic end to an otherwise underwhelming winter transfer window.
However, it appears as though there is still work to do on personal terms. As a result, Spurs supporters and Ange Postecoglou face an anxious wait over the coming hours and days.
