Frank ‘holds Tottenham transfer talks with Levy’ as Solanke doubts raised
Thomas Frank will work closely with Daniel Levy to get transfers across the line at Tottenham.
Frank would have made his intentions clear before signing on the dotted line, with Spurs’ pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo a telling indicator.
Nevertheless, talks with Levy will now become far more regular as Frank starts his assessment of the squad at his disposal.
The Dane will expect to strengthen almost every area of the pitch, especially up front, as doubts are raised over Dominic Solanke.
‘Solanke has a question mark over him’ at Tottenham
Tottenham scored more goals than their 17th-place Premier League finish would suggest, ending the season with a goal difference of just minus one.
However, Spurs’ strikers struggled in front of goal on multiple occasions, with Solanke particularly guilty of lacking the cutting edge that he possessed during his final season at Bournemouth.

The 27-year-old’s cause was not helped by Richarlison, who looks set to leave Tottenham after an underwhelming three years in North London that has been blighted by injuries.
And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Frank has already held transfer talks with Levy, and could have brought up the striker position as an area to prioritise as questions loom over Solanke’s abilities.
“Talks between Frank and Tottenham have been going on for a while,” King said.
“Therefore, I’d imagine there are quite a few players Frank will want to keep, and a few he will want to move on. I would imagine Frank has already relayed this information to Levy.
“For me, the sooner Richarlison gets out of Tottenham, the better. I think Solanke has a question mark over him as well. He might have done it at Bournemouth, but he certainly hasn’t done it for me at Tottenham.”
Tottenham need a different profile to Solanke
Solanke was brought to Spurs by Ange Postecoglou for skills outside of just scoring goals.
The Englishman’s off-the-ball work rate both in and out of possession allowed for Spurs to play on the front foot and press their opponents high up the pitch.
Tottenham could now look to bring in a player who offers a different skillset, namely one who is better at holding the ball up and has a keen eye for goal.
Solanke is unlikely to leave North London after just one year. However, he should expect competition to arrive this summer, with Frank possibly seeking a reunion with Ivan Toney.
