Exclusive: Postecoglou sack compensation slashed due to Tottenham agreement
Daniel Levy’s decision to sack Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham could be made cheaper after a recent agreement emerged.
Postecoglou is facing the sack at Tottenham, with former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson highlighting an “unacceptable” situation in North London while speaking exclusively with Tottenham News.
Should Levy decide to pull the trigger, there are several potential candidates to replace Postecoglou, with the Australian himself backing Mauricio Pochettino to return to Spurs.
Players such as James Maddison are likely to be delighted if a change is made, and it looks as though some money could be saved in the event of a sacking, which could be put toward a potential replacement.

Levy can save money on Postecoglou sack at Tottenham
As reported by the Athletic (27 March), Postecoglou’s future is in “serious” doubt, with Andoni Iraola the preferred candidate to take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs remain focused on finishing the season on a high, with a UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie still to play against Eintracht Frankfurt, and Postecoglou in need of something special to save his job.

Postecoglou will have one year left on his Spurs deal at the end of the season, with the option for a fourth.
As a result, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has detailed that it won’t be as costly as perhaps expected for Levy to sack the 59-year-old.
“When Postecoglou signed his contract, it was announced as a four-year deal,” Wenham said.
“However, that article in the Athletic said it is a three-year deal plus an option. Therefore, that would make the severance pay significantly less as the club wouldn’t need to utilise that option.
“They will just be paying up one year of his contract rather than two.”
Levy could have an easy Postecoglou sack decision at Tottenham
Based on Postecoglou’s contractual agreement, it appears as though it won’t be too costly for Levy to sack the former Celtic manager.
Therefore, if Spurs fail to win the Europa League and finish in the bottom half of the Premier League, Levy could have one of his easiest sack decisions yet in North London.
