Exclusive: ‘Postecoglou annoyed with erratic Romero update’ amid Tottenham news
Cristian Romero is set to return from a lengthy injury layoff but could be set to cause more issues than positivity at Tottenham.
The 26-year-old has been absent in North London since early December when the centre back was forced off after just 15 minutes against Chelsea.
This has proved to be a major blow for Spurs who have seriously struggled without the influence of the Argentina international and will be glad to welcome him back.
With that being said, the defender has already caused some controversy on Hotspur Way without even stepping back onto the pitch in N17.

Romero set for Argentina duty despite Tottenham injury
The former Atalanta defender has recently returned to training for the Lilywhites and could be set to feature against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
With that being said, Ange Postecoglou is likely to act with caution over the fitness of the centre-back who has already missed three months of the campaign.
Despite this, Romero has been selected for international duty with Argentina and looks set to link up with his countrymates, much to the discontent of the Spurs supporters.
Former Leicester City and Brentford manager Martin Allen believes Postecoglou will be frustrated by this development but has little power to keep the 26-year-old in North London.
“It’s an absolute headache for the manager, Allen told Tottenham News.
“When he’s fit he plays every game and he’s an outstanding defender, he can be a bit erratic but he shows his commitment to Tottenham.
“They’ve missed him.
“From a manager’s point of view, him getting called up by his national team before playing for his club is a difficult one.
“He will want him at Tottenham, training, recovering and doing more work on his injury while he’s at Tottenham rather than going away with Argentina.
“He won’t get that one-to-one time he would at Tottenham. Postecoglou will be frustrated there is no doubt.“

Postecoglou right to be fuming with Romero
It is completely fair to question the commitment of a Spurs player when they are so quick to return to international duty after so long out with injury.
If the centre-back has gone so long without making an appearance in N17, there is no reason why he should be able to feature for Argentina.

Given how poor the campaign has been as a general rule for the Lilywhites, they would have been dreaming to have Romero back but he’s extinguished some of that excitement.
Now fans are focusing more on Micky van de Ven and the hope that he can finally stay fit after a really tough campaign.
