Ex-Tottenham employee shares transfer admission with Harry Kane replacement lined up
Ex-Tottenham employee Bryan King believes two strikers will need to be brought in this summer as Spurs look to replace Harry Kane.
As per Caught Offside (27 March), Tottenham are planning to bring in at least one striker this summer to replace Kane, with Santiago Gimenez the “top priority” in North London.
Spurs have already made contact with the Feyenoord number nine, while their shortlist also includes Premier League strikers Evan Ferguson and Ivan Toney.
In light of this news, King believes that two forwards should be brought into the club this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “Gimenez’s goals have Feyenoord fighting near the top of the Eredivisie.
“However, if Tottenham are going to bring in a young player from Holland, I would want to see them bringing in an established Premier League striker alongside him.
“I don’t think it will ever be possible to replace Kane, but if you can bring in players who have been scoring in England’s top flight, and have Gimenez work alongside them, that could be beneficial.”
Santiago Gimenez would not be the finished product for Ange Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Gimenez has been on fire this season in front of goal.
The 22-year-old has scored 21 goals in 26 matches for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, which leaves his side second in the standings.
However, he is still young and is not experienced in England, which means he would need some time to settle in.
Therefore, bringing him in to replace a player like Kane could put a lot of pressure on his shoulders, and King is right to suggest that Gimenez would need help.

Kane was a superstar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, making the task of replacing him near-impossible.
As a result, bringing in two strikers might be better than one if they want to find a new source of goals to replace the 267 Kane scored in N17.
