Ex-Tottenham employee reacts to Emerson Royal injury update as doctor shares ‘100%’ claim
Ex-Tottenham scout Bryan King has praised Emerson Royal for undergoing treatment which a doctor has claimed is “100 per cent” effective.
As per Globo Esporte (via Sport Witness, 27 March), Emerson has been undergoing stem cell treatment to address a recurring injury issue.
The Brazillian has been struggling for the past year with pain in his patellar tendon and has now extracted stem cells from his own bone marrow to help his recovery, claiming he no longer feels any pain after the treatment.
Dr. Luiz Felipe Carvalho, who is taking care of Emerson, has said, “The effectiveness rate of the procedure is 100%.
“The patient’s own cells are used without any risk of rejection, and the cells are able to deflate, heal and regenerate the lesions in up to 70% less than the original timeframe.
“If a lesion has 30 days to heal, with the right technique we can heal it in up to ten days.”
In light of this news, King has offered his opinion on the procedure.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “This form of treatment is certainly new to me, something I haven’t heard of before.
“However, as long as it is within the rules, and players aren’t looking to gain any unfair advantage, then I am all for it.
“Football is a relatively short career, and footballers want to play games. Therefore if this gets him back on the pitch, and keeps him on the pitch, then he should go for it.
“It is important for footballers to be open to things like this.”
Emerson Royal will be needed by Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham between now and the end of the season
If Emerson feels fit and ready to help Spurs, that can only be a good thing in their pursuit of UEFA Champions League football.
While the 24-year-old has not been a key player for Ange Postecoglou, he is a useful option to have in the squad and someone always ready to fill in when needed.
Considering the issues he has been dealing with, Spurs fans will be delighted to hear that he is now free of the pain which was holding him back.
His performance levels will likely only improve now that he feels increased comfort, and he could prove very handy between now and May in helping Spurs see games out and secure valuable points on their way to a potential top-four finish.
