Everton ‘to make statement signing’ amid Richarlison transfer news at Tottenham

Richarlison could seal an emotional return to Everton as transfer news emerges at Tottenham.

It is safe to say that Richarlison’s time at Tottenham has not panned out how the Brazillian would have liked following his big-money switch from Everton.

This season has been another disappointing one for the striker, who has missed much of the campaign through injury.

Therefore, with two years left on his contract in the summer and a new deal unlikely to be offered, it feels as though now is the time for Tottenham to cut ties with Richarlison as transfer exit news emerges.

Everton ‘to sign Richarlison ahead of move to Bramley-Moore Dock’

Tottenham paid £50million up-front to sign Richarlison from Everton, with £10million in add-ons included in the transfer agreement. However, the 27-year-old’s value has since plummeted, with Daniel Levy in line for a big loss.

As reported by the Daily Mail (31 March), Tottenham turned down an offer for Richarlison from Flamengo in the winter transfer window.

However, according to Goal Brazil (1 April), Richarlison’s future now appears to lie away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Spurs willing to listen to offers for the forward in the summer.

Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a return to Everton is on the cards.

“I wouldn’t rule out Richarlison making a return to Everton,” Wenham said.

“Especially with that move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season, the Toffees will want to make a statement signing as they move into their new home.

“Therefore, with the history Richarlison has got at the club, I could see Everton signing him, and I think that would be a good landing spot for the striker.”

Levy’s loss on Richarlison is only going to get bigger at Tottenham

Unless Richarlison secures a big-money move to Saudi Arabia, Spurs aren’t going to recoup anywhere near the kind of money that they paid for the former Watford star.

And the longer they wait, the more his value will decrease. Therefore, Levy has no choice but to stomach a big loss on Richarlison this summer.
