Dorrington prediction shared after brand new Tottenham transfer announcement
Tottenham defender Alfie Dorrington has been backed to shine on loan with Aberdeen.
Sky Sports News’ Michael Bridge reported via his personal X account on Monday (13 January) that Dorrington was set to leave Tottenham on loan, with a decision expected soon.
Just a matter of hours later the North London club made that decision, announcing via their official website (13 January) that the 19-year-old defender had signed a new contract with the club until 2029 before heading to Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen on loan.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has backed Dorrington to demonstrate his quality while on loan up north.
“I think he could have gone anywhere from the Championship to Scotland,” Wenham said.
“We’re talking about a ball-playing, Under-19 England captain. He is very confident, and I have no issue with him heading out on loan. I think people are now going to notice just how good he is.
“Therefore, I think this loan move will be good for Dorrington.”
Alfie Dorrington leaves Tottenham on loan to join Aberdeen
Dorrington signing a new contract before heading to Aberdeen demonstrates that he is highly rated by Spurs, and they hold hopes that the defender will have a long-term future at the club.
Therefore, supporters will be keeping a close eye on Dorrington in Scotland to see what kind of talent the club have on their hands.
Several players have left Spurs on loan this season. However, things haven’t necessarily worked out for all of those players. Therefore, Ange Postecoglou and everybody connected with Spurs will be wishing Dorrington all the best.

And should the youngster make a big impression this season, he could find himself firmly in the first-team plans in North London next year.
In other Tottenham news, Darren Bent has hit back at “disgraceful” Postecoglou claims.
