Doctor: Tottenham star Ryan Sessegnon to be out for rest of 2023 in blow
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur...
Tottenham Hotspur wide man Ryan Sessegnon is currently out of action due to a Grade 3 hamstring rupture, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert believes that it’s hard to give a specific timeline on when the left footer, who can play full-back and out wide, can be expected back in action, but it’s not going to be in 2023.
The Englishman’s fitness levels have dropped considerably and he’s also faced setbacks while recovering from the hamstring tear.

Discussing Sessegnon’s situation exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Sessegnon has been dealing with a hamstring injury for an extended amount of time.
“This appears to be a Grade 3 rupture and he’s suffered multiple setbacks including over the summer and early part of the season.
“It’s difficult to give a timeline on it because we just don’t know how he’ll react to higher intensities at this stage.
“The hamstrings are notoriously sensitive and his fitness levels have surely dropped significantly with all the time he’s missed.
“He’s not going to be back before the end of the year.”

The 23-year-old has not featured this season under Ange Postecoglou as he’s been injured since he arrived at the club.
Last season, he made nine league starts and proved to be a valuable option at left-back and left-wing-back for the Lilywhites.
He’s got two more years left on his deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will be keen on fighting his way back into first-team contention.
Sessegnon is also capable of playing further up the field and being a goal threat on the left wing.
In other Tottenham news, an injury expert has predicted a two-month layoff for a senior player after what happened recently.
