Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso might be in contention to play Everton on Saturday, 23 December, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while the specifics of his setback are not revealed, it does not appear to be a serious one.

Ange Postecoglou had ruled him out of the Nottingham Forest clash last week, but there is a chance the Argentina international is fit in time for this one.

Discussing the state of play with Lo Celso exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: "It is hard to make much of it other than it’s not serious.

"If it’s a knock or very mild muscular injury, then Lo Celso could possibly be back for this weekend.

"It's just very limited information.

"He’ll have to undergo a late fitness test surely and will possibly be doing light training at the start of the week before the game against Everton."

Lo Celso joined Spurs permanently in 2020 for a £27.2million fee, according to the BBC.

Since then, he's had a tough run with injuries which have stopped him from becoming a first-team regular.

This season, due to the multiple absentees in the Spurs side, the 27-year-old has made seven Premier League appearances and scored two goals.

Should he pass a fitness test, he'll be expected to settle for a spot on the bench rather than being thrown straight back into the team.
