Doctor issues fitness update on Destiny Udogie ahead of Tottenham v Aston Villa

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur...

Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie appears to have recovered from his hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes that it’s hard to tell how serious the initial setback was as there was minimal information from the club.

The 20-year-old pulled out of the Italy squad during the international break but recently revealed that he’s ready for the Aston Villa clash on Sunday, 25 November.

Discussing the state of play with Udogie exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “He was out with a hamstring injury but he’s recently suggested that he’s ready to play so I expect he’s recovered fully.

“I’m not exactly sure how serious the injury was as the team have been quiet on it.

“It might be something where it’s difficult to tell exactly or the player prefers privacy – it’s hard to say.

“Consequently, it is hard to put much stock into a percentage chance for return with such minimal injury information and he’ll still go through a check before being given the green signal.”

This undoubtedly will have come as a huge boost for Ange Postecoglou ahead of a tricky Premier League game.

He’s played in 10 Premier League games this season and has been the first-choice left-back for the Lilywhites.

The 20-year-old has also notched up two assists to his name and if fit, is expected to be named among the starters.

Spurs are facing a major injury crisis as there are nine players ruled out of the game against Villa.

In other Tottenham Hotspur news, a senior first-team player is set to be out for the rest of 2023 with a Grade 3 hamstring rupture, according to an exclusive by an injury expert.
