Dejan Kulusevski injury return timeline mooted amid ‘insane’ Tottenham claim
Dejan Kulusevski is set to miss some big matches for Tottenham after a recent injury setback.
Ange Postecoglou’s side appeared to miss Kulusevski as they were beaten 1-0 by AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 at the AFAS Stadion on Thursday (6 March).
Jamie O’Hara slammed Son Heung-min for his lacklustre attacking display, while Brennan Johnson, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert didn’t offer much more.
However, it looks like Spurs will have to once again line up without Kulusevski for the second leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (13 March), and a timeline for the Swede’s return has been mooted.

Kulusevski to miss weeks for Tottenham
As reported via BBC Sport (5 March), Postecoglou has confirmed that Kulusevski is unlikely to feature before April, without providing a clear timeframe for the 24-year-old’s return to action.
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is confident of the Swede making his comeback after the March international break, and benefiting from his extended spell on the sidelines.
“It is frustrating that he is injured,” Wenham said.
“However, he also needed the rest. I’ve been saying for weeks that he needed to come out of the side. Therefore, for me, this isn’t a disaster.
“I can see the benefits because although he is injured and needs to recover from that injury, it also gives other parts of his body and his mind a chance to recover too. He has played an insane number of matches this season.

“As a result, hopefully he comes back rested and ready to fly in the business end of the season. When he does return in April, he will walk back into the starting lineup because he is still our best player.”

Tottenham need Kulusevski fit and firing
Should Spurs get past AZ Alkmaar in North London, they will no doubt be desperate to get Kulusevski back fit and firing for the Europa League quarter-finals.
The versatile Spurs man has been a key player for Postecoglou this season, and the Australian will need him if Tottenham are going to achieve success in Europe this year.
