Daniel Levy urged to accept £40m Richarlison loss after Tottenham transfer twist
Tottenham striker Richarlison’s long-term future in North London remains up in the air.
Richarlison has been unable to stay fit this season which has led to calls for Spurs to cut ties with the striker, with Everton mooted as a potential destination after the Friedkin Group completed a takeover at Goodison Park.
It was reported by Sky Sports News on Thursday 2 January (7:49 am), that the Brazillian would not be leaving Tottenham during the January transfer window.
However, in a recent twist, while speaking via Last Word on Spurs, (10 January, 1:02:17), Darren Lewis said that Ange Postecoglou’s side would sell Richarlison in January should a suitable offer arrive.
And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has detailed that he feels £20million would be a fair price to pay.
“Obviously, Spurs paid an awful lot of money to bring Richarlison to the football club,” King said.
“However, Daniel Levy is going to need to bite the bullet and accept a nominal fee for him, because they certainly aren’t going to get £60million. Personally, I’d want that type of player out of the football club.
“If that means cutting your losses, then so be it. Any fee around the £20million price tag would be fair.”
Tottenham to sell Richarlison in January?

Therefore, if they were to accept an offer of around £20million, that would represent a loss of £40million for the football club and Levy. However, it looks as though Spurs have little choice but to accept such a loss.

Richarlison has hardly been able to stay fit and certainly hasn’t lived up to his price tag. As a result, it is difficult to see anybody paying big money for the 27-year-old.
In other Tottenham news, Real Madrid are set to launch a £42million bid for one player at the club.
