Daniel Levy ‘to sanction high-profile Tottenham exit’ after £440m+ reveal
Daniel Levy might have no choice but to sell a high-profile Tottenham player this summer after a recent £440million-plus reveal.
It has been another miserable season for Tottenham, which has seen the frustration toward Levy and ENIC grow immensely in North London.
Anti-Levy and ENIC chants are frequently heard at Tottenham matches, while supporters have protested against the chairman and the club’s owners on multiple occasions this season, most recently ahead of the 3-1 Premier League win over Southampton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, 6 April.
It is expected that more protests will take place between now and the end of the season, and fans are only likely to become angrier after a recent £441million reveal.

Tottenham ‘could struggle to sign players this summer’
It looks set to be a summer of change at Tottenham once again, with Ange Postecoglou expected to be sacked.
As a result, money will need to be spent on new players for a new manager as Spurs look to put this miserable season behind them. However, that might not be so straightforward.
Premier League 2024/25 | Position | Points |
Tottenham | 15th | 37 |
Wolves | 16th | 35 |
West Ham | 17th | 35 |
While appearing on Last Word on Spurs (7 April), football finance expert Kieran Maguire explained that Spurs’ most recent financial accounts show that they owe £441million to other clubs in unpaid transfer fees.
This is a method followed by other clubs as well. However, Spurs owe the most, even more than Chelsea.
As a result, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a high-profile player will need to be sold this summer if Tottenham want to bring anybody through the door.
“I was on that Last Word on Spurs podcast with Maguire,” Wenham said.
“When he said that we owed more than £400million on transfers, I was flabbergasted. That is very concerning when you consider that we need a massive overhaul of the squad this summer.
“Where is the money going to come from? It looks as though we will need to sell a high-profile player, such as Cristian Romero, just to get the ball rolling on potential transfers.
“What it also means is that the players we sign this summer have to all be hits. There needs to be real due diligence done on the players that we bring through the door.”
Tottenham fans will fume with Levy
Spurs definitely have options if they need to sell a big-money player, with Romero expected to leave Tottenham.
However, the fact that the North London club need to sell to buy is only likely to increase anger among fans toward Levy and ENIC.
