Daniel Levy ‘to pay Postecoglou £5m sack compensation at Tottenham’ – Exclusive
Ange Postecoglou could be in line for a handsome payout if he leaves Tottenham at the end of the season.
Postecoglou’s full focus will be on the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).
However, the Australian’s future at Tottenham beyond that showpiece fixture remains up in the air.
It has been suggested that Tottenham and Postecoglou could reach a mutual agreement to part ways at the end of the season. However, it appears as though the decision to remove Postecoglou could prove costly for Daniel Levy.

Postecoglou sack could cost Tottenham £5million
As reported by The Telegraph (14 May), Postecoglou is due a payment of £2million if Tottenham win the Europa League.
Therefore, if the 59-year-old leaves Tottenham after a victory over Manchester United, that could spell double trouble for Levy.

It has been suggested that Levy could save some money by sacking Postecoglou this summer.
However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the Spurs boss would still demand a full year’s salary, reported to be £5million-a-year [The Mirror], as well as his potential Europa League bonus.
“Postecoglou is earning around £5m annually,” King said.
“If I were him, and I was being told to leave the club, I’d want my wages for the year, and I’d want my bonus if I’d won the Europa League.
“Postecoglou has signed a contract, Tottenham also signed that contract, that is what he will be owed. However, it is a lot of money considering the job he has done in the Premier League.
“But Postecoglou will be fully paid. I think he will be removed as manager, and a payment will be made.”

Postecoglou can secure lucrative Tottenham exit
If Postecoglou wins the Europa League on his way out of Tottenham, not only would he fulfil his promise of winning a trophy in his second season, but he would also secure a lucrative payout.
As well as the £5m compensation, the former Celtic manager would earn an extra £2m, taking his total payment to £7million ahead of his exit from the Lilywhites.
