Daniel Levy ‘to make Ange Postecoglou sack decision within days’ at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou’s long-term future at Tottenham could be resolved within a matter of days.
Spurs’ season hinges on their progress in the UEFA Europa League.
As a result, that made their 1-0 defeat against AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion on Thursday (6 March) all the more damaging.
Fans were calling for Postecoglou to be sacked after what the Australian did before kick off in the Netherlands, and the performance on the pitch did very little to silence that noise.
Spurs’ players didn’t turn up, with Son Heung-min and James Maddison blasted after what they did in the damaging defeat.
Therefore, Postecoglou will be hoping to put things right in the Premier League against Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (9 March). However, it seems as though the match that matters is the second leg against AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (13 March).

Daniel Levy to make Postecoglou sack decision on Friday 14 March
Levy will have a good chance to eye up a potential Postecoglou replacement when Bournemouth come to North London as speculation around Andoni Iraola joining Spurs continues.
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects a decision one way or another to come after the clash with AZ Alkmaar.
“This defeat was a real low point for Tottenham,” Wenham said.
“For the fans who travelled to not even see a meaningful chance, it was shameful. Especially considering we had some players back, and the eight days rest. For the players to serve up that performance was incredibly disappointing.

“If we don’t progress past AZ Alkmaar, then Postecoglou will surely be sacked. I know there will be some people who say that he should be given until the end of the season.
“However, I’m not sure how that would work. When it would be so well known that he will be replaced at the end of the season, why would the players play for Postecoglou? How would he get them motivated?
“If we get through against AZ Alkmaar, then of course, he will stay in the job. However, based on the performance against AZ Alkmaar I struggle to see us winning the Europa League.”

Postecoglou fighting for his future against AZ Alkmaar
If Spurs fail to advance past AZ Alkmaar, Postecoglou could likely be sacked.
Many will have expected Spurs to lift the Europa League, despite their poor recent record when it comes to winning trophies. As a result, failure to do so, coupled with a poor Premier League campaign, could spell the end of the road for Postecoglou.
