Daniel Levy stance on protests mooted as ex-Tottenham employee speaks out
Daniel Levy will no doubt have taken notice of the Tottenham supporters who recently took to the streets to protest his chairmanship.
Both before and after the 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (16 February), fans protested against Levy and ENIC through a march and post-match sit-in.
There have been calls for more demonstrations to take place ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday (26 February).
However, whether or not these protests are making an impact on Levy is a different story.

Levy ‘unimpacted by fans protesting at Tottenham’
As reported by BBC Sport (14 February), Levy is understood to be hurt by the criticism aimed toward him from fans.
However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – disagrees and has suggested that the 62-year-old has a thick skin and won’t be particularly bothered by any protests.
“Levy has never responded to fan unrest in the past,” King said.
“This isn’t the first demonstration against him, there have been several. However, this demonstration was rather well-attended. Therefore, the football club need to take note of that.
“This is something that will worry the football club. However, I don’t think Levy will be worried about this. I think he has very thick skin, and these demonstrations don’t seem to faze him at all. He will just come out and point toward the stadium and the club’s strong financial position.
“However, supporters aren’t interested in all of that. They want a trophy, and the only way that this season can be resurrected is if Tottenham win the UEFA Europa League because that would provide them with a trophy and a route into the UEFA Champions League. As a result, that could be a lifesaver for the club.”
Tottenham fans must make their voices heard
Levy has never been the most popular man in North London.
Spurs’ poor form this season has increased pressure on the chairman, and Ange Postecoglou will be keen to turn things around to avoid Levy’s wrath.
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Tottenham | 12th | +12 | 30 |
Crystal Palace | 13th | -3 | 30 |
Everton | 14th | -4 | 30 |
Manchester United | 15th | -7 | 29 |
West Ham | 16th | -18 | 27 |
Wolves | 17th | -19 | 19 |
Therefore, fans’ voices are only likely to get louder, and those voices deserve to be heard, with Spurs’ performances on the pitch not in line with the ticket prices that are being charged in North London.
