Ange Postecoglou sack decision to cost Daniel Levy ‘big money’ at Tottenham
Daniel Levy will need to spend “big money” to sack Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.
Levy is expected to make a decision on Postecoglou’s future imminently.
Spurs are without a win in five and under huge pressure ahead of their trip to St Mary’s Stadium to play Southampton on Sunday [15 December], with Postecglou expected to make three changes for the Premier League clash.
However, even if this poor run of form continues, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think sacking Postecoglou would be a straightforward process for Levy.
“I’m not sure whether Levy can afford to sack him,” King said.
“Postecoglou has quite a big team at the club. Therefore, I think it would require big money for him to be sacked. However, if Spurs were to lose against Southampton and Manchester United, I don’t think his position at the club would be as strong as it was at the start of the season.
“Of course, supporters play a big part in these decisions, and I think the next two games are crucial because everybody would expect them to beat Southampton, and then they have a quarter-final match at home against a Manchester United team who aren’t exactly on top form.”
Daniel Levy to sack Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?
It feels as though the next two games could decide Postecoglou’s future in North London.
While back-to-back losses might not necessarily spell the end, it would feel like a long way back at that point, no matter how much it would cost to sack the 59-year-old.
Levy has been urged to pull the trigger now and hire a “brilliant” manager as Postecoglou’s replacement.

However, it seems as though the Australian will be given time to turn things around, and a win against bottom-of-the-table Southampton on Sunday would be a good start.
