Daniel Levy ‘makes Postecoglou sack decision’ after Tottenham win v Frankfurt

Ange Postecoglou secured the biggest win of his Tottenham career with the 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spurs reached the UEFA Europa League semi-final after winning at Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday (17 April).

It was a huge night for Postecoglou and his players, with Richard Keys reacting to the result in Germany.

Dominic Solanke netted the winner from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute, with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers sending a message to the Tottenham striker after full-time.

However, a lot of supporters will be keen to know what this means for Postecoglou’s future, which looked in doubt, with Daniel Levy expected to have made a fresh decision.

Postecoglou offered fresh hope at Tottenham

Postecoglou was expected to be sacked by Levy if Spurs had failed to win against Frankfurt.

However, the 59-year-old instead produced one of the biggest results of his career with his back against the wall, and now has a chance to manage Tottenham in a European semi-final.

Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Postecoglou will be given until the end of the season, at the very minimum.

“I think there will be a different feeling around Tottenham now,” Wenham said.

“Therefore, it is safe to assume that Postecoglou will be there until the end of the season, and he won’t be sacked by Levy before the summer.

“When you think that there are the two semi-final legs to play, and then a potential final, I think it is an absolute minimum that Postecoglou will be at Tottenham until the end of the season now, and we will see where we go from there.

“I think the feeling among the match-going fans toward Postecoglou, starting with the game against Forest, will significantly improve. Hopefully, that positive energy helps the players feel more confident.”

Postecoglou can save himself at Tottenham

Heading into the game with Frankfurt, it looked as though Postecoglou’s days at Tottenham were numbered. However, it is incredible what 90 minutes can do in football.

Spurs are now three matches away from potentially lifting the Europa League, which would mark a historic moment in the club’s history, and potentially save Postecoglou from the sack.
