Daniel Levy faces ‘media scrutiny’ as ‘largest-ever Tottenham protest’ planned
Tottenham supporters are quickly growing tired of Daniel Levy’s chairmanship in North London.
The 63-year-old is perhaps the most unpopular chairman in the entire Premier League.
Therefore, Spurs supporters would have been devastated to discover that a group of Qatari investors who are interested in a takeover of the club are keen to keep Levy on as executive chairman [The Guardian]. However, that is a problem for the future.
For now, Spurs fans are focused on the upcoming Premier League clash with Manchester United, for which Ange Postecoglou could make four changes. However, it isn’t the football that fans appear to be interested in.
Tottenham supporters to protest Daniel Levy and ENIC
Fans attending the clash with United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (16 February) are planning to use the match as an opportunity to protest Levy before and after kick-off, with a pre-game march and sit-in having been organised [The Telegraph].
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects these protests to be larger than ever.
“We desperately need a positive result on Sunday,” Wenham said.
“Especially with the fan protests which are set to take place, which I expect will be far more well-attended than any protests in the past, which will see Levy facing a lot of media scrutiny.
“Therefore, the players need to give the fans something to get behind. This is a battered and bruised fanbase. A lot of clubs rely on the fans to get the team going. However, considering how long it has been since the club last tasted success, I think it is the players who need to get the fans going at Tottenham.
“As a result, a fast start is needed against Manchester United, and the players who are making their return from injury can help provide a serious lift in the stadium.”
Tottenham players must lift the fans v Manchester United
It appears as though the atmosphere in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday could be hostile.
Despite Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie and James Maddison all being expected to return, it seems as though this isn’t enough to deter fans from making their voices heard on Sunday.

Therefore, if Postecoglou’s side are beaten, things could quickly turn ugly in North London.
