Daniel Levy compromise predicted for Tottenham and Everton talks over Dele Alli after multi-million snub
We’re delighted to welcome former Scotland right-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium…
Alan Hutton believes Tottenham and Everton will reach a compromise over Dele Alli so the midfielder can revive his stalled career at Goodison Park.
Dele, 27, is currently wasting away at Everton because once he makes 20 appearances for the club, they’ll have to pay £10million to Spurs. Everton, however, are being extremely careful to not breach any more of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules after being deducted 10 points last month.
As it stands, the ex-England midfielder is on 13 games and the cash-strapped Toffees have tried to negotiate a different deal with Suprs where they won’t have to pay as much.

The Times reported on 9 December that Tottenham have agreed to lower the £10million fee down to £8million. However, it is understood that would be triggered by fewer than 20 appearances.
It is understood that Everton have rejected that offer from Spurs.
Hutton hopes to see Dele back in action soon and although Daniel Levy is a tough businessman, the ex-Spurs right-back expects a compromise to be reached between the two Premier League clubs.
“It’s a fair deal based on what’s going on with him,” Hutton told Tottenham News.

“It’s been so difficult for him now for a number of years and you just want to see him back playing to put all of this to bed.
“It must be hard work for him. He’s had to battle back from injury, he’s had a loss of confidence and form and now he’s got this hanging over his head where you might not play because if you reach a certain number of games, your team has to pay millions.
“That being said, I know how Tottenham work and Daniel Levy is very good at what he does as a businessman. He’s not going to give away somebody for free, that’s for sure.
“It will get worked out, it’ll be a case of them meeting in the middle.
“I think that’ll eventually happen but hopefully it’s soon for Dele Alli.”
In other Tottenham news, Dele Alli could be used as a way for Spurs to sign this “fantastic” Premier League defender.
