Cristian Romero needs to break silence on Tottenham transfer latest, agent is not helping
Cristian Romero isn’t doing Tottenham any favours right now.
The Argentina international has played his part in a catastrophic campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with his various red cards.
He has been sent off twice and picked up eight yellow cards in the Premier League alone, limiting him to featuring in just 20 of Spurs’ 28 fixtures.
That didn’t help Thomas Frank, and he is yet to play since Igor Tudor’s introduction, but that hasn’t stopped exit links from swirling around.
Romero has emerged as a target for Real Madrid in recent weeks, with his agent seemingly to blame for these latest rumours.

Cristian Romero’s agent slammed amid Real Madrid links
It is little surprise that the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from North London, given his credentials as a World Cup winner.
With the Lilywhites in a relegation battle, there is bound to be plenty of sides interested in taking him off their hands in the summer.
The problem is, Romero is the captain of Tottenham Hotspur and really needs to be showcasing his talents to help keep Spurs in the Premier League.

That is the feeling of former scout Bryan King, who has urged the Argentine to speak publicly as he believes the defender’s agent is stirring up transfer speculation at Real Madrid.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “He’s worth at least £70million.
“The thing is with Romero, you don’t know how many games he’ll actually play if you sign him. If he’s not injured, he’s picking up red and yellow cards.
“He hasn’t exactly shown himself to be a World Cup winner this year. He’s been scoring goals, but that’s about it.
“I think the Real Madrid story has come from his agent, because all the talk has been about Atletico Madrid before.
“There’s going to be plenty of speculation with him going with where Tottenham are.
“Romero should come out and quell it. He has a job to do at Tottenham, he’s the captain and needs to give 100 per cent.
“He needs to come clean rather than let talks go on. It’s not a good sign.”
Tottenham could land £70m in Romero sale
There is no guarantee that the N17 outfit will even be in the Premier League next season, but if they are, big changes are needed.
Sales are likely to be plentiful, with Romero destined to be one of the first out the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The defender signed permanently from Atalanta in 2022 for a reported £42.5m, and he has proven to be worth that in the years since.
To get plenty out of the defender before selling him to LaLiga for £70m would mark upwards of £27m profit, which can only be seen as a plus.
It would be damaging to lose him, there’s no doubt about that, but to bring in that sort of fee would be a financial boost ahead of a busy summer window.
