Arsenal ‘to win big-money transfer race with Tottenham’ as ENIC blasted

Tottenham fans’ hatred of ENIC could reach new heights with Arsenal expected to sign a big-money star ahead of their North London rivals.

Spurs supporters have made their feelings of ENIC and Daniel Levy perfectly clear in recent weeks.

However, it doesn’t look as though either will be going anywhere anytime soon, with Levy derailing takeover attempts in North London [Bloomberg].

Therefore, the protests at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are only likely to become more frequent, especially if Arsenal win the race for one Premier League star ahead of Spurs as expected.

Tottenham ready to pay £62million for Matheus Cunha

As reported by CaughtOffside (22 February), Tottenham are ready to trigger Matheus Cunha’s £62million release clause at Wolves. However, they face competition from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

As a result, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t expect Spurs to win the race for the 25-year-old, as he thinks Arsenal will make a more enticing financial offer.

“I expect that there will be bigger clubs in for Cunha,” Wenham said.

“Don’t get me wrong, I would love for us to sign him. He’d instantly be one of our best players. However, this ownership has no ambition to go out and sign those kinds of players.

“When Arsenal signed Declan Rice, why weren’t we in for him? It is because we don’t have owners with the ambition to sign these elite players that increase your club’s performance levels.

“Therefore, I expect Cunha to go somewhere like Arsenal, and for us fans to be told by the club that this was a player who was out of reach. However, the numbers don’t align with that statement, we should be able to sign these players.”

Tottenham must pull out the stops to sign Cunha

Spurs are generating big money thanks to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Levy has helped the club to secure some lucrative commercial deals, with an NFL base expected to be built in North London.

As a result, there is no reason why Spurs can’t sign Cunha from a financial standpoint, and if Levy wants to change his reputation in North London, he is going to need to start winning the races for these kinds of players.
