Angel Gomes ‘wants to join Tottenham’ after confirmed exit news
Tottenham could make Angel Gomes their first summer signing after recent developments.
Spurs’ season was characterised by two extremes – there was the high of lifting the UEFA Europa League after a 1-0 victory against Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).
However, the Lilywhites also ended the Premier League campaign in 17th place after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (25 May).
As a result, Daniel Levy will be expected to act in the summer transfer window in hopes of a better domestic campaign next season, with Gomes emerging as a likely signing.

Gomes announces Lille exit amid interest from Tottenham
Gomes recently announced via Instagram (19 May) that he is leaving Lille, with his contract with the French club set to expire on 30 June.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have long been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, with ex-Spurs scout Bryan King exclusively revealing to Tottenham News that Gomes’ agents are likely already in talks with the North London club.

And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that a move to Tottenham would interest Gomes.
“Tottenham are going to be playing in the Champions League next season,” Wenham said.
“Therefore, when it comes to the pecking order of options Gomes has, I’m sure that Tottenham would be near the top of the list if they were to make an offer.
“I’m sure Gomes wants to come to Tottenham and live in London and play Champions League football with the current Europa League holders. As a result, I’m sure a decision will be made on that soon.”
Tottenham should consider moving for Gomes
Tottenham will be playing in the Champions League next season. As a result, they cannot afford to let good market opportunities slip away and need to strengthen the squad.
Recent injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski have reiterated the importance of squad depth, particularly in the midfield. Therefore, signing Gomes would make sense.
The England international would be a useful addition to the squad, and as a free agent, Spurs wouldn’t need to fork out big money for his signature. As a result, this is a deal Levy should be all over.
