Ange Postecoglou ‘to stay at Tottenham’ after crunch sack news v Frankfurt

Ange Postecoglou continues to come under pressure at Tottenham ahead of a Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

The Lilywhites are preparing for what is arguably their biggest game of the season against the Bundesliga outfit on 10 April in North London.

This comes just days after Spurs secured a 3-1 win against Southampton, where Brennan Johnson was involved in a moment of controversy.

Bad feeling continues to revolve around Hotspur Way, which could see Postecoglou face questions if his side faces a negative result in Europe.

Postecoglou sack update shared ahead of Frankfurt clash

The Australian head coach was seen cupping his hands to away fans at Chelsea before Pape Sarr’s strike was eventually ruled out for a foul.

This has added to the frustration around the ex-Celtic boss, who will only come under fire once again if Spurs can’t secure a win against Frankfurt.

The German side are sat third in the Bundesliga and won’t represent an easy task regardless of how much the N17 club need to win.

With that being said, former Brentford and Leicester City manager Martin Allen believes Postecoglou will remain in his job regardless of the result in the Europa League.

I don’t think they’ll sack him now,” Allen exclusively told Tottenham News.

I think they’ll give him until the end of the year, then review his season. Tottenham have had a lot of key injuries, both centre backs, centre forwards and so on.

You’ve got to ask yourself why these injuries have happened. It’s the same at nearly any level if you’re best players aren’t fit and playing, then you aren’t going to win.

Will the Frankfurt game be defining? I don’t think it will. I think they’ll stick with Postecoglou until the end of the season.

They’ll give him a chance with the current players now being fit and he’ll try and get something working for next year.

Postecoglou could avoid Tottenham sack

It is fair to say that the 59-year-old is losing the backing of the Spurs fans, which could ultimately result in him facing the sack before the season ends.

The only saving grace could prove to be his success in the Europa League against Frankfurt in a moment that could change the perception around the campaign.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the likes of Son Heung-min can step up to prove themselves under the Aussie head coach and save him from the sack.
