Ange Postecoglou to start Ben Davies in Tottenham v Arsenal after injury update

Bryan King believes that Ben Davies is more than capable of filling in at left-back for Tottenham in Destiny Udogie’s absence.

The ex-Spurs scout believes that Davies will be given the nod ahead of Emerson Royal against Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday 28 April at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou has been left short of options at left-back after it was announced that Udogie would no longer be available this season after undergoing an operation.

But King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that Davies shouldn’t be underestimated.

“I think Postecoglou will play Davies in Udogie’s place against Arsenal,” King said.

“It will be a big ask for him because he will be up against Bukayo Saka, but he is experienced, he is a regular international for Wales, and he is more than capable of filling in for Udogie.

“I wouldn’t talk Davies down too much, I imagine he will be up for the fight.”

Will Ange Postecoglou start Ben Davies for Tottenham against Arsenal?

Davies hasn’t played for Tottenham since they were beaten 2-1 at home by Wolves on Saturday 17 February.

More than two months will have passed by the time Davies potentially takes to the pitch against Arsenal, and he will need to shake off any rust quickly once the game gets going.

Spurs have a huge week coming up, which offers Davies the perfect opportunity to remind everyone of his quality.
