Ange Postecoglou sack: Tottenham manager ‘dying on his own sword’ – Insider
Ange Postecoglou is his own worst enemy as the Tottenham boss comes under increasing pressure from supporters, Paul Robinson has said.
A small corner of Goodison Park was packed full of angry travelling fans after Spurs were defeated 3-2 by Everton on Sunday (19 January), leaving the side 15th in the Premier League table.
Daniel Levy has already been tipped to pull the trigger on Postecoglou’s time in North London, and Robinson has doubled down on that idea before the pressure gets too much for the owner.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “I’ve said it for a long time – they’re still competing in the EFL Cup, the FA Cup, they’re still in the Europa League, and there’s an outside chance of being in Europe from a Premier League finish.
“But looking at where they are in the table, three wins in 15 games across all competitions, and 12 defeats which is the same as Ipswich, only Southampton, Leicester and Wolves have had more defeats.
“The speculation over his job is just going to grow, and as we all know, when the cameras turn on Daniel Levy and the pressure starts to mount on him, the outcome is that the manager goes.
“He’s not naive. He’s a good manager, but it’s just the stubbornness of sticking to the same system. Everyone’s got injuries, but at the weekend, Solanke, Johnson, Bissouma, Werner, Bentancur, Udogie, van de Ven, Romero, and two goalkeepers were all missing.
Tottenham to finally sack Ange Postecoglou after Everton embarrassment?
“You can understand why they are where they are, but on the flip side, Ange is under pressure because he’s not adapting or changing. Football is about results.
“Tottenham supporters are travelling the length of the country, spending their hard-earned money to watch the team, and everyone in the stands can see his refusal to change. He might end up dying on his own sword because of it.
“He’s bang under pressure. If it had been any other manager, I don’t think they’d have been awarded this much time.”

Spurs sitting 15th in the Premier League is absolutely unacceptable, especially after fans were preparing for a title charge at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.
If changes are not made soon, to either the owner or the manager, scenes could get even uglier at Hotspur Way.
