Tottenham are reportedly keen on securing the services of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton this summer.

The England international has been a mainstay for Palace and among their first names on the team sheet.

Discussing the state of play with Wharton exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“Spurs may take a closer look at his groin surgery from last season, but I doubt there’s any issue considering he was able to play relatively consistently for months following it,” he said.

“This should also mean he clears his medical without any issues.

“The Premier League experience ensures that adaptation also will not be much of a problem.”

Tottenham may not be willing to break the bank on Wharton

Wharton would be an excellent signing for Tottenham, bringing composure, vision and defensive tenacity to their midfield.

The 22-year-old Crystal Palace star’s pass accuracy, ball-winning ability and six England caps highlight his Premier League quality and potential.

His ability to dictate tempo and break lines fits Spurs’ high-pressing, possession-based style.

However, the £100m price tag is excessive for him as he’s not shown that level of quality and consistency.

Spurs’ prudent transfer strategy under Daniel Levy makes such a fee unlikely, especially with cheaper alternatives available.

While Wharton’s youth and homegrown status are appealing, the Lilywhites are unlikely to meet Palace’s valuation, prioritising financial discipline over splashing out.
