Yves Bissouma ‘will never start for Tottenham again’ after Postecoglou sack news

Yves Bissouma is out of contract at Tottenham at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

Tottenham embarrassed themselves yet again on Sunday, with a 2-0 defeat away to Fulham in which they failed to lay a glove on Marco Silva’s team.

Europa League success remains a possibility for Spurs, but with or without that, this campaign will still ultimately be looked back on as a failure given their league position.

Several players have underperformed massively, but perhaps none as much as Bissouma and his fate may have already been sealed.

Ange Postecoglou hanging by a thread at Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou is somehow still in a job in North London, but after Ian Wright labelled his team’s performance as “embarrassing”, its evident that time is running out.

Footage emerged from the defeat showing Postecoglou in a not-so-friendly encounter with Spurs supporters, and it would be crazy if he survived yet another confrontation with the disgruntled crowd.

However, he may not be the only one finished in North London, with Bissouma surely edging closer to the end of his career at Tottenham.

Spurs have been dreadful in the league

Bissouma has been a flop this season, and with his contract expiring at the end of the next campaign, it seems almost inevitable that he will leave.

Until then, his inclusion will come into question, and based on his current form, he may never start another game for Spurs, given his lack of influence under Postecoglou.

That poor form will linger in the mind of the next manager once the axe is dropped on Postecoglou, and it’s highly unlikely that they will want to repeat the same mistakes.

As to who that next manager is, Andoni Iraola is said to be keen on taking over [Telegraph Football], and there is no doubt that he will want to stamp his own authority in North London.

Tottenham surely ready to sack Postecoglou

Progression has been non-existent under Postecoglou this season, and somehow Daniel Levy is still yet to see that.

Tottenham can not afford to let him continue much longer unless regression is their goal.

His countless altercations with fans, matched by the results and performances on the pitch have made his position untenable, and Levy simply has to pull the trigger now.
