Vicario woeful in 2/10, best gets 7/10 – Tottenham player ratings v Wolves

Tottenham fell to yet another league defeat on Saturday, with Wolves securing a 4-2 victory at Molineux.

Ange Postecoglou’s side got off to the worst possible start at Molineux, with Tottenham-linked Rayan Ait-Nouri opening the scoring inside 90 seconds.

A howler from Guglielmo Vicario gifted the hosts a second in the first half, with Spurs falling to yet another disappointing league defeat under Ange Postecoglou, who is surely coming to the end of his time at North London.

Tottenham embarrass themselves again v Wolves

Guglielmo Vicario – 2

Looked remarkably uncomfortable all afternoon for Tottenham. Should arguably have done better for the opening goal, before making a howler for the second.

Archie Gray – 3

Gray struggled defensively and was uncharacteristically sloppy on the ball at times.

Cristian Romero – 4

Didn’t really put a foot wrong until a dreadful error that led to Wolves’ third goal of the game. Looked poor from there on out.

Ben Davies – 6

Solid enough display from Davies as a makeshift centre half.

Djed Spence – 5

Couldn’t have done anything to prevent the own goal, but was far from his best throughout the clash. Spence has enjoyed a good season this time out, but that level wasn’t replicated this afternoon.

Pape Sarr – 4 (for Bergvall 55′)

Struggled to have any real influence in the game, and on the occasions he did get on the ball, he did very little with it.

Yves Bissouma – 6 (for Bentancur 55′)

Started horrifically, but grew into the game as it went on. Very tidy on the ball.

James Maddison stands out despite Tottenham defeat

James Maddison – 7 (for Kulusevski 74′)

Maddison has come in for a lot of criticism this season, but was again the main source of creativity for Spurs this afternoon.

Brennan Johnson – 5

Not for the want of trying, but offered little to the attack for Spurs. Very ineffective until a decent cross for Tel’s goal, which fell fortunately for the Frenchman.

Mathys Tel – 5

Exactly the same as Johnson, tried, but failed to influence the game much until a rather fortunate strike to get Spurs back in the game.

Dominic Solanke – 3 (for Richalison 74′)

Solnake just couldn’t get the ball to stick against Wolves on the very rare occasion he was involved.

Substitutions

Lucas Bergvall – 6 (for Sarr 55′)

Instantly provided a different dimension for Tottenham. Looked to get forward and create.

Rodrigo Bentancur- 6 (for Bissouma 55′)

Tidy on the ball if nothing else.

Dejan Kulusevski – N/A (for Maddison 74′)

Richarlison – 7 (for Solanke 74′)

Got himself on the scoresheet late on in the game.
