Tottenham player ratings v Arsenal: 3/10 dud could get Postecoglou sacked
Ange Postecoglou remains under pressure after Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Postecoglou made a bold call to leave James Maddison out of the starting lineup at the Emirates on 15 January, although it didn’t seem to matter as Spurs took the lead through Son Heung-min.
However, the home side turned things around before half-time through goals from Gabriel and Leandro Trossard – who left one Spurs star humiliated in the first half.
And that is how the match finished, with Postecoglou’s side offering very little in the second half.
Tottenham News have rated each player’s performance against Arsenal out of 10.
Antonín Kinský – 4
The 21-year-old looked nervy in possession and made a fair few mistakes with the ball at his feet. He also arguably should have done much better with Trossard’s strike.
Pedro Porro – 5
Didn’t demonstrate his usual quality on the ball and had a few suspect moments defensively as the Spaniard cut a tired figure at the Emirates.
Archie Gray – 6
One of Spurs’ better performers on the night. The 18-year-old looked pretty comfortable defensively and didn’t panic much when in possession, which is more than can be said for some of his teammates.
Radu Drăgușin – 5
Made a mistake early on and looked nervous on the ball at times, but didn’t make too many mistakes defensively.
Djed Spence – 6
Looked relatively sold defensively and carried a threat going forward, particularly when he played a brilliant ball to Dominic Solanke in the first half.
Pape Matar Sarr – 5
Did slightly better than Yves Bissouma. However, he picked up a needless booking by kicking the ball away and was hooked at halftime alongside Bissouma.
Yves Bissouma lets Ange Postecoglou down in Arsenal v Tottenham
Yves Bissouma – 3
Incredibly poor as he gave the ball away in the build-up to the second goal and was deservedly hooked at halftime.

Lucas Bergvall – 6
Worked hard and tried to drive Spurs forward when he could but also demonstrated a lot of signs of inexperience.
Dejan Kulusevski – 5
Saw a lot of the ball but didn’t provide the kind of quality Spurs have become used to seeing from the Swede this season.
Dominic Solanke – 5
Worked hard up front but was rather isolated throughout most of the match.
Son Heung-min – 6
Would have been delighted to score yet another goal against Arsenal. However, other than the deflected strike, the Spurs captain didn’t offer much else.
Subsitutes
James Maddison – 5
Didn’t provide the type of quality or impact he would have liked to prove he shouldn’t have been left out ahead of kick-off.
Brennan Johnson – 5
Got himself into some useful positions but failed to find the right quality on the ball just like most of his Spurs teammates.
Richarlison – N/A
In other Tottenham news, James Maddison could demand an exit from the club after being left out against the Gunners.
