Tottenham ace can be Postecoglou saviour after ‘Horrible’ moment v Aston Villa
Ange Postecoglou has seen the pressure continue to pile on him after Tottenham were knocked out of a second cup competition in the space of four days on Sunday.
The Lilywhites are having a tough Premier League campaign, sitting 14th in the table, and losses to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and Aston Villa in the FA Cup means their sole chance of silverware remaining this season lies in the Europa League.
As a result, conversations surrounding the future of the Australian manager are as loud as they have ever been.
Antonin Kinsky highlights Tottenham problem
One of the reasons credited for Tottenham’s struggles this term is their long list of injury problems, which has left the squad light in numbers.
The Lilywhites were forced to recruit a number of new faces in the winter transfer window to try and provide some reinforcements, with Antonin Kinsky being the first name through the door.
A goalkeeper was urgently needed after Guglielmo Vicario picked up an injury earlier in the season before Fraser Forster was also sidelined, leaving Brandon Austin making his Spurs debut against Newcastle United.
Kinsky had a decent start to life in North London and supporters were hopeful that they could have a long-term replacement on their hands.
However, the past week was one to forget for the 21-year-old after he conceded four goals against Liverpool, one of which was a penalty he gave away, before allowing Villa to score after just one minute on Sunday struggling with a routine save.
Reflecting on the goal for BBC 5 Live Commentary (9 February), Rachel Corsie admitted it was a poor error as she said: “That is a horrible moment for Antonin Kinsky in the Tottenham goal. It will be a hard one to watch back.
“It was a straightforward save and he made a mess of it.”
Guglielmo Vicario could be Ange Postecoglou saviour at Tottenham
It is clear that the young goalkeeper has talent but with plenty of pressure and confidence shot, Kinsky seems to be struggling at the moment.
However, the Spurs boss may be able to find some help from his number one choice with Vicario on his way back to full fitness.

The 28-year-old has only three clean sheets from 12 Premier League appearances before injury this term but, with his experience, he could certainly bring some leadership to that back line.
From the start of February, the goalkeeper’s return has been mooted which suggests to supporters that he is close to being available again.
Whether Daniel Levy will give the boss the time to see this through is yet to be seen but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the boss praying for Vicario to be back to full fitness as he looks to secure his future at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
