Postecoglou sack could be imminent at Tottenham after new comments

Ange Postecoglou continues to sleepwalk closer and closer to his own sacking at Tottenham.

The Australian has been under crushing pressure at the Hotspur Stadium, with a club insider even suggesting that recent fan protests could push Daniel Levy to get rid of him.

Betting odds have also come to light on who could replace him in North London, but as long as he is still in charge, he will continue to fight for his players, though that might not be for much longer.

After going 1-0 down to Wolves on Sunday (29 December), Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson gave Spurs the perfect chance to claim a simple three points against a team near the bottom of the table.

However, supporters have come to learn that things are never that simple under Postecoglou, with Strand Larsen scoring in the 87th minute to blow the wind out of Spurs’ sails yet again.

Following the match, he spoke to the media, quoted by Metro [29 December], saying: “We’re asking a lot of a small core group of players. The whole group probably needs a couple of days to get away and recover.

“It has been really intense for a core group of players. I’ll just keep going, mate. We’ve got work to do and try to get some help for these players and our role is to try and give them everything we can, the support we can to perform at their best.”

Ange Postecoglou swirling around the Tottenham drain

Postecoglou has spoken far too many excuses and far too much nonsense, adding more frustration amongst the fans amidst several extremely poor results.

He even went on to say: “I just thought we had some really big moments to kill the game off,” begging the question: Why aren’t Spurs killing these games off?

The manager keeps saying how he wants to push the team forward, but for every step they take forward as a team, they seem to take five steps back and the pressure mounts up again.

Levy might have no choice but to replace Postecoglou before the protests become too ugly, but that is unlikely to solve anything due to the owner’s lack of spending on the pitch.

Obviously, the manager is not fully to blame for the inaccuracies on the pitch but his comments are never helpful for anything but trying to protect his players.

It’s boring, it’s frustrating, and it could lead to his imminent sacking.
