‘Postecoglou out’: Daniel Levy to drop axe on Tottenham manager at Fulham
Daniel Levy will be preparing a list of potential managers to replace Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham suffered yet another Premier League defeat against Fulham on Sunday.
Any hopes of building on a 3-1 UEFA Europa League win against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday (13 March) came crashing down after Marco Silva’s men handed Spurs what was their 15th Premier League loss of the season on 16 March.
It appeared both teams would share the spoils at Craven Cottage as the scoreline read 0-0 after 77 minutes, only for Rodrigo Muniz to put Fulham in front a minute later.
Former Tottenham ace Ryan Sessegnon then delivered the crushing blow as he sealed all three points for the hosts with a fine finish with two minutes to 90.
Levy to surely sack Postecoglou now
With Tottenham winless in three Premier League games, it is hard to see Postecoglou remain in charge of the North London giants for much longer.
It is worth noting that this is the most number of matches that Spurs have lost in a league season since the 2008-09 campaign.
The fact that there are nine more games left to play will truly be scary for any Tottenham fan as they are looking at one of their worst seasons in recent times.
Team | Played | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goal Difference | Points |
12. Crystal Palace | 28 | 19 | 9 | 9 | 3 | 39 |
13. Tottenham | 29 | 10 | 4 | 15 | 12 | 34 |
14. Everton | 29 | 7 | 13 | 9 | -4 | 34 |
It will certainly be a poor reflection on Levy if he continues to stick with Postecoglou after this and that is why it will not be a surprise if Spurs release an official statement regarding the Greek-Australian tactician’s future imminently.
The London outfit play Chelsea, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa between now and the end of the season and supporters will be dreading those fixtures as things stand.
They also have games against Brighton and Crystal Palace, who are both above Spurs in the standings, left to play.

Ryan Mason to become interim Tottenham manager
Hiring a permanent replacement for Postecoglou at this stage of the season may be a huge challenge as some of Levy’s preferred candidates like Andoni Iraola might be contracted elsewhere.
That is why Tottenham should consider appointing Ryan Mason as their interim manager until the end of the season as they have done twice in the past.
There is perhaps no better time for Levy to make that decision than the upcoming international break.
