Dean Huijsen ‘to sign for Tottenham’ amid latest Andoni Iraola development
Tottenham could land the signing of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen under one condition.
As for now, preparations for the new campaign will be on the backburner, with Tottenham still in with a chance of winning silverware via the Europa League.
However, with or without that, it has still been a dismal campaign, showcasing the need for strong recruitment in the summer window.
Should Tottenham fail in their attempts to win their first trophy in over 17 years, it would seem almost inevitable that Ange Postecoglou will be sacked, opening the door for Andoni Iraola to take over.

Iraola could take charge of Tottenham next season
If Postecoglou does face the sack, Daniel Levy needs to ensure that the next appointment is a good one, and Iraola would fit the bill given the success he has achieved with Bournemouth this season.
Odds on the Spaniard becoming the next Tottenham boss were slashed recently, and his appointment would open up a door to a world of possibility.
Bournemouth | Appearances | Tackles won | Duels won | Pass accuracy |
Dean Huijsen | 23 | 20 | 85 | 84.3% |
One of those possibilities could lead to the signing of Huijsen. The teenage defender has excelled under Iraola and should he get the job in North London, there is a chance that Huijsen would opt to follow him if Spurs were to stump up the cash.
Of course, concerns have been raised over the future of Cristian Romero, and if he were to depart, Tottenham would need to sign a replacement.

Tottenham could utilise Bournemouth links with Iraola appointment
Bournemouth are in with a chance of securing European football next season, which if achieved, would make all of this prayer unlikely.
However, if not, and if Spurs can get a deal for Iraola over the line, they simply need to look into the recruitment process that has brought the Cherries their recent success.
The signings of Milos Kerkez and Huijsen are just two examples of that excellent recruitment process, and Iraola would be able to bring some of that with him to North London, as well as the possibility of signing some of their top talent.
