Daniel Levy ‘to sack Postecoglou’ after shocking £111m Tottenham reveal

Tottenham have massively underperformed under Ange Postecoglou this season.

Tottenham – if they are to have any chance of winning silverware this season – need to win the Europa League, though that would likely be a minor success in the grand scheme of things.

All in all, it has been a dismal campaign for Postecoglou’s side this season, and they face the daunting prospect of a season without European football next time out unless they can go all the way in the Europa League.

Even then, the future of Postecoglou would come into question, with the latest reveal showcasing exactly why he should be sacked immediately.

Tottenham wage expenditure highlights Postecoglou failure

Tottenham are 14th in the Premier League; which is simply unacceptable given the finances in the club and the squad available to Postecoglou.

According to the latest estimates from Capology, Tottenham are spending a remarkable £111.9 million on wages per year, the seventh-highest wage bill in the Premier League.

Tottenham are underperforming

Six teams with a lower expenditure are currently higher than Spurs in the league, with Nottingham Forest in line for Champions League qualification despite having a wage bill less than half of Tottenham’s.

To make things even worse, their manager? Former Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santos.

For a team with that much access to money, to be enduring such a wretched campaign showcases exactly why Postecoglou is fortunate to have not been sacked yet.

The level of underperformance is embarrassing, and the longer he is afforded to stay in North London, the worse that will become.

Levy must pull the trigger on Postecoglou

Tottenham are a team that should be challenging for a top-four spot, not setting up for mid-table mediocrity, which has been the case under Postecoglou.

A change is essential if Spurs are to progress, with or without the Europa League trophy, or else they face the possibility of regressing even further next season.

Not only does the wage expenditure show underachievement, but it also showcases just how poorly they have recruited over the last few years.
