‘Daniel Levy pulls off Tottenham transfer masterclass’ amid £1.6m Man City news
Daniel Levy has pulled off a masterclass at Tottenham by signing Mason Melia ahead of Manchester City.
The Spurs chairman has regularly come under scrutiny from supporters in North London for his speed, or lack thereof when it comes to completing transfer business.
This was certainly the case during the winter when until 2 February, Antonin Kinsky was the only signing made after a month of the window being open.
With that being said, the 62-year-old can’t be slammed for his work to bring a wonderkid to N17 ahead of a whole host of top sides.

Despite it being a generally disastrous season for the Lilywhites, the trust in young players like Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall has been a huge positive.
This has made the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium an attractive prospect for high-potential prospects ahead of other teams across Europe.
This has certainly been the case with Melia who has completed a £1.6million move to Spurs from Irish outfit St Pat’s [Tom Barclay].
This deal was announced on 4 February, beating the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen to his signature [David Sneyd].
Ultimately, the success of this signing has to result in praise to Levy who has provided the funds to help push a deal over the line ahead of multiple top sides.
The chairman could have easily refused to stump up the £1.6m for a 17-year-old but with the potential he can offer, it appears to be a no-brainer and the Lilywhites have completed the deal.
The icing on the cake is the addition of a 20 per cent sell-on and a second sell-on which will secure some financial safety in N17 for years to come if Melia is a success.
