Daniel Levy has had enough after image emerges in Tottenham v Liverpool
Tottenham were smashed against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday, with Daniel Levy far from happy on the latest evidence.
The Lilywhites went into the second leg one goal ahead after the home win but were destroyed 4-0 at Anfield on 6 February, with little fight shown.
Ange Postecoglou once again made excuses despite having more senior players available, but goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk embarrassed him.
Daniel Levy rages at Anfield
Although not very amusing now for Tottenham fans, others gathered to point and laugh at Levy as he was spotted rolling his eyes, or as someone put it: falling asleep.
Postecoglou has been backed heavily despite some shocking defeats recently, but it looks as though the owner is losing his patience, with several examples of him looking rather unhappy at games recently.
Liverpool ran Spurs ragged at Anfield, and there can be no excuse for a lack of effort.
Ange Postecoglou to be sacked by Tottenham?
With the suggestion that a possible trophy being on the line is keeping the Australian in a job, he has just ticked one off the list.
The FA Cup is up next against Aston Villa this weekend, and defeat in the midlands could be the final straw for Levy and ENIC.
Losing at Anfield against Liverpool is just the tip of the iceberg though, with defeats against Leicester, Everton and Ipswich much more worrying in the Premier League.
Postecoglou has to find a way to turn this clear Levy frustration that he can’t even hide to joy, but it will take lifting the Europa League or FA Cup – easier said than done.
One thing saving the manager is the availability of others in the world of football.
There is no clear candidate to come in and turn things around, but Levy still isn’t afraid to make those massive calls if needed, as proven with Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.
After rolling his eyes or falling asleep at Anfield though, it looks as though he won’t put up with the same old rubbish that has been served up for months – this is an official public warning.
