Tottenham could be about to smash a transfer record during the upcoming January window.

The Lilywhites spent heavily during the summer window, as they splashed out over £180million across eight new additions to their squad.

There is already an indication that their spending will continue this winter, with Tottenham keen to trigger their option to sign Joao Palhinha, despite him being a matter of months into his loan spell from Bayern Munich.

The Portuguese is already a fan-favourite in N17, but Thomas Frank could now be about to make a move for another hugely exciting player.

Tottenham will explore Jens Petter Hauge deal

Jens Petter Hauge caught the eye against Tottenham recently, as he delivered a stunning performance for Bodo/Glimt in their recent Champions League draw with the Lilywhites.

The winger netted two superb goals during the game and turned in a near-faultless display against his side's Premier League opponents.

Frank was full of praise for the 25-year-old after the game and gave a cryptic response regarding a move for him after he revealed that he tried to sign him while he was at Brentford.

Ex-Spurs scout and Norwegian football expert Bryan King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - believes that the Lilywhites will make a move for Hauge in January, in a deal which could break the record for the most expensive sale by a club in Norway.

“Frank will go for him (Hauge)," King said.

“I think he showed with the two goals that he scored that he is absolute quality.

"I think the money that Bodo/Glimt would be looking for would be anywhere between £20m and £30m, which would be massive money for a Norwegian club.

“That would break the record for the biggest transfer fee ever received in Norway."

Jens Petter Hauge would be an interesting option for Spurs

Hauge was exceptional against Tottenham in the Champions League, and if that is the level that can be expected from him, then it is no surprise that Frank has had his eye on him previously.

The Norway international has been back in his homeland since 2023, having previously had spells with AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt in the early stages of his career.

He has 15 goal contributions in 28 games for Bodo/Glimt in all competitions this season, and would certainly be an interesting option for Spurs to explore, especially considering he would cost a relatively insignificant fee by Premier League standards.

Hauge may not have got his chance in English football under Frank previously, but it could be a very different story this time around.
