Tottenham target Rayan Aït-Nouri is on the verge of sealing an exit from Wolves.

Tottenham have been on the lookout for market opportunities to strengthen their squad in time for the new season.

With UEFA Champions League football on the agenda next season, Daniel Levy has likely already compiled a long list of potential recruits.

And one area that Tottenham have been looking to strengthen is the left-back position, as the Lilywhites seek to provide more competition for Destiny Udogie.

Aït-Nouri to undergo medical with Manchester City

Tottenham have a mountain to climb this summer and will need to bring in several fresh faces.

However, it seems as though Aït-Nouri will not be moving to North London.

Aït-Nouri impressed for Wolves this season

Tottenham had been linked with the Wolves defender previously, but in recent days, Manchester City have accelerated their pursuit with Pep Guardiola looking to regain his seat at the top of the Premier League next season.

Now, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (6 June), City have agreed a fee worth close to £33million with Wolves for Aït-Nouri.

Medical tests are due to take place on Saturday (7 June), after Aït-Nouri had already accepted City's project earlier in the week.

Tottenham must clarify Ange Postecoglou's future

Tottenham should not even be considering adding to their squad before confirming who will lead the team next season.

Potential transfer targets will want to know who will be in charge before putting pen to paper.

More importantly, the manager will need to have a say in the recruitment so he can build a team that can successfully implement his ideas.

Postecoglou's future will likely be decided in the coming days, and with Champions League football to look forward to and lots of work to do this summer, a decision cannot come soon enough.
