Levy 'emailed medical results' as he prepares to shake on new Tottenham transfers

Daniel Levy is a divisive figure at Tottenham after a turbulent year in charge of the North London club.

Levy has been Spurs chairman for almost a quarter of a century and has overseen some key moments in their history.

However, the 63-year-old is an unpopular figure amid a lack of spending and the sacking of Ange Postecoglou.

While his future at the helm of the Lilywhites remains tenuous, an insight into his working has been revealed.

Levy role in Tottenham transfers revealed

Tottenham have already been making inroads in the summer transfer market, with a couple of additions confirmed.

Firstly, Kevin Danso's loan move from RC Lens was made permanent for a fee of approximately £21million.

Then, Mathys Tel followed suit by joining Spurs for around £30million, having been on loan from Bayern Munich last season.

While that is a start, Lilywhites supporters will want more substantial signings to be made in preparation for Champions League football.

Whatever happens, Levy is bound to play a key role in the fine details of transfers, as revealed by The Times (14 June).

Football reporter Tom Allnutt claims that when a first choice is identified, the 63-year-old works on negotiations.

He recounts that when a block in talks occurred to bring Antonín Kinsky to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Levy flew out on New Year's Day to strike a deal.

During the final stages of a deal, Levy is involved in the player's medical and is emailed their results so that he can meet them at The Lodge.

It is there at the North London side's hotel that the Essex-born chairman greets them with a welcoming handshake.

Levy must sign Thomas Frank players if he remains in charge

Although there are rumours of investment and takeovers, Levy remains in charge of Tottenham.

That means that he will be ultimately responsible for any business carried out at the Premier League club this summer.

Thomas Frank will need additions if he is to be a success, and Danso and Tel will not be enough to satisfy him.

There has been talk of Bryan Mbeumo, but all the talk suggests he will head to Manchester United instead.

Having already missed out on Leroy Sane, Levy must show some ambition and back Frank in the transfer market.
