Newcastle striker Alexander Isak should not have issues clearing his Tottenham medical despite two groin injuries in the 2023/24 season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that such muscular setbacks can be difficult to get out of but there is a chance that he's already overcome that problem.

This comes after The Athletic reported on 4 June that people at the North London club admire the 24-year-old but admit it will be an expensive deal to do.

The Mirror reported on 6 June that Newcastle hope to price off any potential bidders as they've placed a £150million price tag on the Sweden international.

Discussing the state of play with Isak exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brara doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: "He had a groin injury on a couple of occasions this past season which suggests that there could be a problem.

"Muscular injuries in-season can be particularly difficult to get out of, especially in high-stress areas like the groin or adductors.

"That stress may be even higher for Isak who relies on change of paces and change of direction which loads those areas more.

"That being said, he had a very good close to the season which may mean he is over these problems and there shouldn’t be issues with him clearing his medical."

Alexander Isak will be a stellar signing for Tottenham

The Sweden international would be a great signing for Spurs this summer as he's a proven Premier League goal scorer with 31 goals in 52 games for Newcastle.

He's versatile, able to play as a lone striker and off the left as well - which is something that Ange Postecoglou likes from his attacking players.

His physical size and technical ability make him a threat in the box and his work rate and maturity show he's ready for a bigger stage.

The Lilywhites haven't properly replaced Harry Kane yet and the 24-year-old might just be the answer.
